On Wednesday, June 15, Doug Wolfe and I will be speaking on The Changing Landscape of Annual Reports at the St. Louis PRSA chapter’s monthly luncheon meeting. You can learn more about the event here. I’m looking forward to seeing many friends in St. Louis, where I spent most of my career before leaving for Phoenix in late 2002 to be the head of Phelps Dodge Corp.’s corporate communications department.
Doug and I have worked together on and off since late 1983. Our first project was relatively simple; we wrote and designed an invitation to an all-employee event called Celebrate the Spirit for Southwestern Bell Corp. Then, for two years, we worked together on Enterprise, an employee magazine meant to foster an entrepreneurial spirit within Southwestern Bell employees after the company was divested from AT&T. We must have done a good job; Southwestern Bell got so entrepreneurial that it bought up most of the divested companies, pulled them back together, and renamed itself AT&T!
Since those days we’ve done websites, videos, corporate meetings and more than our share of annual reports together. Doug and his wife, Marta, have become good friends, and I’ve admired the way they’ve put together a great design firm, ProWolfe Partners, with their partner and another friend of mine, Bob Prow.
It will be fun to present with Doug and to see some old friends. If you’re coming and have any questions you want us to address, leave a comment here, and we’ll be sure to talk about them.
